It’s Official: Three Candidates Vie for Binghamton Republican Mayoral Nomination

Local bar manager Ed Hickey was the first Republican Mayoral candidate to drop off more than 500 petition signatures at the Board of Elections on July 9th.

Then former Deputy Mayor Rich David dropped off 1023 petition signatures and Binghamton attorney Douglas Drazen turned in 525 petition signatures on July 11th.

With these three candidates competing to succeed the failed Ryan-Rennia-Abdelazim administration, it is sure to be an exciting race heading into the September 10th primary election.

In other news, petitions were also filed to nominate Broome County Clerk Rick Blythe and Johnson City Mayor Greg Deemie for their well-deserved reelections.

Perhaps most important, 115 petitions were filed for the hard-working Members of the Broome County Republican Committee.   Our candidates thank each and every one of them!
