Broome Conservative Chair Jim Thomas Named Mahoney Award Winner.

We’d like to salute our long-time ally, Jim Thomas, for earning this well-deserved recognition for his years of selfless service to conservative candidates and principles.

On March 11, State Conservative Chair Mike Long honored Jim along with Jean Rose of Orange County and Robert White of Franklin County with the prestigious Award at a Reception in Albany.

Jim credited NYS Senator Tom Libous and the Broome County Legislature's Clerk, Aaron Martin, as being an essential part of his success.

The “J. Daniel Mahoney Award” is presented each year to the Conservative leaders who best personify the legacy left by the first State Conservative Chair.

Mahoney served as Chair from 1962 to 1986 when he was nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit by then-President Ronald W. Reagan.
